Title:Any Good Italian Restaurant in Beijing?
Post 1 Any Good Italian Restaurant in Beijing? Mar 22,08 07:34 AM

I will have a few Italian friends coming over to Beijing in July this year. They asked me if there is any good Italian restaurant I"d recommend in Beijing, nothing really come to mind.

So, a quick question for those knowledgeable board members, are there any good (authentic) Italian restaurants you know of in Beijing, preferably in the CBD area?

Thanks in advance.

I am no expert in terms of Italian eateries in Beijing, but I have certainly heard some positive comments on the following establishments:

+39 Italian Restaurant & Lounge - http://www.plus-39.com.cn

Capone"s Italian Restaurant - http://www.capones.com.cn

Hopefully this response helps.

Don"t know where your friends will be staying exactly, but you can tell them to have a go at L"isola as well, I have not been there for almost a year now, but I doubtlessly had some of my best pasta dishes there while in Beijing, though the overall service can vary from fantastic to okay (Also I have heard someone saying that they do not accept foreign credit cards, not sure if it is true but do take note here). The restaurant is located at Unit 201, 2/F, PCP Dining, Pacific Century Place (also known as Pacific Century Plaza), A2 Gongti North Road (Gongti Beilu).CARNOC_EN(03/30/08 13:34)

Recently tried +39 Italian Restaurant as mentioned by xiayi, no doubt one of the very best places for authentic Italian food in Beijing, the set pricing is also quite high-end, so definitely not a place to dine everyday. However, for those who want a fantastic and romantic experience, it is where you should go.

The best Italian is l"isola restaurant, i haven"t found an other yet with the same patient and costant like the two brothers has since when they open. All home made pasta, breads, desserts and now they have a nice selection of pizzas too.
do not esitate, go for it.

Thanks for the update mate, maybe that guy (actually my friend"s friend) went there too long ago or the POS machine wasn"t working so he was under the impression that they didn"t accept foreign credit cards.

I haven"t been there for a long time now (too bloody busy at work), it"s certainly good to know that they do accept all major credit cards so I can go there with my VISA card (issued by an Australian bank) without any worries from now on.

Anyway, thanks heaps!
