Title:What's your preferred carrier between PEK and CAN?
Post 1 What's your preferred carrier between PEK and CAN? Jul 26,07 12:32 AM

Being a regular flyer, I am interested to hear from others on what"s your preferred airline between Beijing and Guangzhou and any reasons behind your preference?

For instance, I generally prefer Air China over China Southern and others on PEK-CAN route, not only that I am loyal to the airline and its FFP, but also because I have found CA"s overall service level tends to be better, though only slightly. However, Air China does seem to have fewer heavily discounted tickets than rivals on the route - not a problem if company is paying.

Regards

Stick with Air China if you"re based in Beijing, their move to T3 next year should provide better facilities than its rivals. Also, I agree with you that Air China"s FFP is slightly better than its domestic rivals for Chinese travellers who take international flights on a fairly regular basis.

I guess this really comes down to personal preferences. Some of my friends always stick with China Southern since they use Terminal 1 at Beijing airport, which is a far smaller terminal than T2 that is currently being used by Air China and some other carriers. They argue that T1 is easier to get around and much shorter walking distances etc, so that would equal to a bit time-saving. On the other hand, there are also friends who always choose Air China for being loyal to their FFP, brand and/or overall service level etc.

Apart from the comperhensive timetable itself, I really like the "return trip search" feature, makes life much easier. Great!

This is what I normally do:

For the sake of cheaper tickets, I may choose Hainan Air as they tend to have cheaper fares than rivals on PEK-CAN from time to time. However, if high frequency is what you need, then stay away from this option.

For the sake of better airport environment (particularly fewer people!), I will stick with China Southern as it uses less-packed Terminal 1 at Beijing airport instead of Air China"s Terminal 2.

For the sake of frequent flyer points and elite member treatments, I go with Air China whenever I can. Also, they tend to have better schedules on PEK-CAN than others.

Hopefully this may help.

Currently, China Eastern is my only choice, because my company has signed a contract with MU that we can get Y50 ticket at any time. But it"s standby tickets.

My Favourite is Hainan Airlines, because of their inflight service is best in Chinese mainland.
